Ease your way into the evening and unwind after a busy day.Perfect for beginners or experienced students who want a deeply relaxing yoga practice. In this class, we will use props to support the body in restorative poses with sound healing. Various breathing techniques will be introduced that can release stress, reduce tension and promote relaxation. We then finish class with 15-20 minutes of meditation.
Week 1 - Vipassana Meditation: This classic Buddhist meditation trains us to wake up out of thoughts and to attend to our changing experience with a balanced mind and clear presence.
Week 2 - RAIN Meditation + Metta: This is a four-step practice that can be a powerful tool for working with difficult emotions and discovering the freedom of an awakened mind.
Week 3 - Mantra Meditation: This focus based practice can help to increase the neuroplasticity of the brain which allows us to create new perspectives.
Week 4 - Kripalu Meditation + Metta: This mindfulness meditation can support the mind in staying in the present moment with a nonjudgmental awareness.
Please bring a pen, yoga mat, large pillow or two, blankets, blocks, strap (or scarf/tie), and optional eye pillow (or cloth).

Erin Schuster is a Kripalu yoga and meditation teacher who delivers wellness workshops, corporate programs, and dynamic private sessions. Erin has been assisting and completing the Yoga Teacher Trainings at Kripalu since 2012 to continue to build her education and awareness on how to best support the community. Erin believes that yoga is a lifelong journey of self-discovery, both on and off the mat.
