YOGA OFF THE WALL with Jim Conlan

Create a new foundation. Using a wall can be both a playful ally and a powerful tool for hatha yoga. This workshop is dedicated to create a more supportive base for your practice. Alignment principles will be discussed and applied while you are supported by the outer walls of the studio. In some postures, such as balancing, just a delicate use of the wall will be encouraged for play after alignment principles are engaged, whereas, the wall will also be used to work a little deeper into some of the stretching and inversion preparation postures. Using the wall accesses a second “connection” for the body in the poses. This opens up opportunity to explore new areas of possibility in the physical expressions. This special two hour workshop will be offered in a heated room with a Power Vinyasa format to heat the inner body.

Saturday, Feb 28, 3-5pm, $25/preregister, $30/day of workshop

He brings a powerful combination of light-warmheartedness and discipline into his teachings. "For me, the practice of yoga isn't about being 'happy' all the time, it's about connecting to the source or our fear, our darkness, our judgements, and our disconnections so we can shed some light on them and recognize that all of these things are a creation of our own conditioning and belief system, and that the true source of our existence is a balance of universal love and devotion. With a dedicated yoga practice, there is nowhere to hide from your authentic self, and this allows you see that self in others with compassion and forgiveness." Jim is a leader and co-creator of the MYS 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training Program.
