
Petra
RYT 200, Petra found yoga after years of struggles with staying healthy, and grants regular yoga practice with finally being able to quiet her autoimmune system into long term remission. Petra believes that in order to take care of others, we need to take care of ourselves first. Once she fell in love with yoga, she knew she wanted to share her passion with others. She sees yoga as a way of living her most authentic self. Petra’s style of teaching is centered around YogaWorks method, a Vinyasa-based flow method that balances precise instruction, detailed alignment, breath and fluid movement. She is also the CENTER Yoga + Wellness studio manager.

Traci
E-RYT 200, RYT 500, Traci is devoted to yoga and continually works to deepen her practice through teaching and study. She blends these influences with a safe environment for students to connect to their inner strength. Her classes promote health and flexibility, create calm in the mind, and restore balance and harmony in a mindful practice of breath, movement and meditation. Traci finds the opportunity to share the practice with others a true gift.

Jill
RYT 200, Jill completed her teacher training at Kripalu School of Yoga + Ayurveda in 2014. With a longtime interest in healthy living, Jill originally came to yoga with purely physical goals. While exploring posture and movement, Jill soon began to draw connections between her experiences on the mat and in her daily life. Jill has recently returned to the shoreline from California where she spent time working for YogaWorks in Los Angeles and then later following her heart to the remote Northern coast spending a few years working within the farm-to-table movement. She draws from her diverse experiences and guides engaging classes full of integrated movement and student-focused flow that highlight the mindfulness, vitality and joy that yoga can bring to our lives. Erin
Erin is a passionate 500HR Kripalu yoga teacher that delivers safe and transformational classes, workshops and retreats. She is a Certified Life Coach, Mindful Outdoor Guide, and Reiki Master. Erin has been assisting the Kripalu Yoga Trainings and Inspired Living Programs since 2014 to continue to build awareness on how to best support her community. Emily
RYT 200, Emily has practiced yoga since she was a high school student but decided to pursue her teaching certification when she was pregnant with her son, Hank. She thought it was an important time to strive to be the best version of herself. As a RYT 200, certified through Tiny Buddha Yoga in Ann Arbor, MI, Emily helps her students find their truest selves through their yoga practices. Emily studied dance at Connecticut College, and believes that body awareness is essential for a healthy lifestyle. Finding one’s potential and knowing one’s limits are important skills to learn on and off the yoga mat. Emily leads yoga classes with a focus on alignment, breathing, and mindfulness, and believes that yoga is so much more than just the physical practice.

Sue
RYT 200, Sue completed her yoga training through YogaWorks with Angela Botta at pradipikaYOGA. Sue started coming to yoga five years ago after surviving cancer. She attributes her great health to her yoga practice which changed her life for the better and believes everyone can benefit from yoga! Sue focuses on creating a safe and welcoming environment, teaching a step-by-step approach while reminding students of their own breath and to listen to their bodies during practice. Sue also recently earned her Reiki II certification to enhance her connection with her students.

Krista
RYT 500, Krista is happy to call Stonington, Connecticut her home after living in New York City where she worked in the fashion industry. She received her 200 hour RYT from Sonic Yoga, NYC and recently completed her 300 hour RYT through Recovery Yoga. Krista has also been studying with the Baptiste Institute for the past two years and just completed her tier one certification. She loves what the Baptiste methodology stands for: being in alignment with your true, authentic self creates abundance for all you desire in life!

Kat
Kat believes the physical demands of Yoga help to still the mind and hopes her students can experience this peace through her practice. Kat’s Baptiste style power-vinyasa classes are based on a vigorous flow that focuses on physicalness, possibility and empowerment. She encourages students to continually challenge themselves to go beyond their believed potential. On and off the mat, Kat seeks to attain balance in her life through the perfect combination of effort and ease.

Kayla
RYT 200, Kayla completed her training through YogaWorks with trainer Angela Botta. Yoga is an avid practice in Kayla's life, as she was first captivated by the physical improvements in her body. From years of training and development, the physical workings of her yoga practice opened a gateway to coming to terms with her mental and spiritual self. Having earned a B.S in Psychology with a sub focus in biology, Kayla values the benefits yoga has on the mental body. Kayla’s passion is guiding students to connect to their breath and find inner awareness through movement. She strives to hold a space where students can work inwardly to deepen their understanding of self and strengthen their physical body. Kayla emphasizes optimal alignment in asana poses to create a practice that is suitable for all levels.

Lynn
RYT 200, Lynn completed her teacher training at Kripalu with trainers Coby Kozlowski and Michelle Delbac, igniting her passion to be a lifelong student of yoga. During this quest for self-knowledge and wisdom, she discovered a peace and insight the comes with regular practice. With the variety and sequencing of poses, Lynn’s classes build strength, flexibility, and balance. Her true focus is assisting practitioners with inquiry and helping them explore a deeper relationship with their consciousness both on the mat and in their lives. As a school nurse practitioner, she plans to introduce yoga to adolescents to provide healthy stress reduction strategies.

Brett
Brett has been devoted to the study and application of how human beings work and thrive since 1995 and has been teaching yoga since 2001. He has studied in the United States as well as in Mysore, India under numerous teachers -Tias Little, Sarah Powers, and Adyashanti. His teaching springs from a strong grounding in the ashtanga vinyasa tradition, modified to suit different levels, paying careful attention to finding both anatomical as well as "true" alignment in the poses. His approach encourages the release of patterns that make a home for fear and discomfort in the body. Brett shares and teaches that which is true and alive in him.

Janice
RYT 200, Janice took her first yoga class in 2009 on her honeymoon at a surf and yoga retreat. From that first practice in Nosara Costa Rica, yoga found a place in her heart and embedded in her core. Janice completed her teacher training after her first son Dylan in Santa Barbara with CorePower Yoga and LinkedIn. After her second son, Noah, was born she moved back to Connecticut to be closer to family. Janice is a lover of outdoors: the sun, snow, sand, and mountains as well as eating local, organic food. She has a passion for linking breath to movement and supporting her students through the evolution of their yoga practice.
Megan
RYT 200, Megan completed her training under Caroline Felix and Amy Gwinner at Shine Yoga in Winchester, Virginia. When beginning yoga in 2012, Megan immediately fell in love with the physical practice, as well as the mental and spiritual benefits yoga provides. Having completed her Bachelor’s degree in Music Performance and Master’s degree in Arts Management, Megan feels the yoga practice energizes and enhances the creative process of all individuals.
With a focus on the vinyasa style and the influence of Baron Baptiste, Megan’s training deepened her passion to share yoga with others. She is inspired by Sri Dharma Mittra, and values a yoga practice that is rooted in inclusion and acceptance, aiming to cultivate fluid strength, ease, and opening in the body.

Lauren
RYT 500, Lauren has trained in India and New York City. She currently teaches and works for Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health. Lauren grew up in Guilford and is excited to bring her teachings back to the Shoreline, a place that is close to her heart. Lauren has taught in the fast paced classrooms of New York City, on the beach in Hawaii, and in the expansive halls of Kripalu Center. She believes the yoga classroom is an intimate space where we commit to exploring the many sides of ourselves and learn to accept all feedback with the deepest compassion. With an approachable and calming presence, Lauren strives to make her classes relatable and inspiring, relaxing while still strengthening. Her classes are very breath focused and weave in aspects of mindful meditation. Lauren continues to study with many inspirational speakers, writers, yoga practitioners, and meditation teachers at Kripalu Center. As she continues to deepen her practice, she takes what she learns back into the classroom with a sense of curiosity, playfulness, and a deep desire to make a difference. Lauren is also certified in Reiki and Ayurveda.

Aimee
After discovering yoga in 2009, Aimee started with a gentle foundation class and instantly fell in love. Over the course of her practice, she found yoga gave her the opportunity to connect with her whole being, embrace patience, honor her body, meet herself where she was is at, and changed her perspective. Aimee is passionate about the subtle yet powerful healing aspect yoga can bring to one’s self. Through yoga she learned to listen, trust, nurture, heal and restore each part of herself. She completed a 200-hour YogaWorks Teacher Training with Caitlin Casella at pradipikaYOGA May 2018. YogaWorks draws on the lineages of Iyenagar, Ashtanga, and Desikachar to create a vinyasa-based practice that focuses on alignment, anatomy, breathwork, and meditation to empower students to find their individual expression of yoga. Aimee is also Reiki II certified.

Christine
RYT 200, Christine has a unique perspective on using the breath to access vibration and energetic intention in yoga asana. Rooted in her former career as a symphonic flutist in New Mexico, Christine teaches the importance of yoking the breath, pranayama, to experience inner presence. Her classes incorporate a vigorous and at times adventurous flow, inviting kinetic awareness and fostering poise. She challenges her students to explore all possibilities on the mat, but to know that sometimes just showing up for yourself is enough. Christine tries to find balance within her life as a busy mom through her daily home practice. She believes that yoga is a nourishing path, one she is grateful to have the opportunity to share.

Whitney
RYT 200, Whitney is a Connecticut native and has always had a passion for movement with dancing throughout her childhood into adult life. After college she headed west and took residence in San Diego. She fell in love with yoga, linking breath to movement and how it brought more mindfulness into her every day life. Whitney dove into multiple teacher trainings in 2015 and never looked back. She has expanded her work into energy work through Reiki as well as Holistic Health practices. She is excited to back in CT and continue to move with zeal and make new connections on the mat.


Meredith
Meredith has been teaching yoga, meditation, spinning, and wellness on the Connecticut shoreline for almost a decade now. She is a Kripalu certified teacher at heart, but is a continuous student of many! Meredith has trained under Sudha Carolyn Lundeen in Restorative Yoga and completed Tari Prinster's Yoga4Cancer training. You will find the masterful teachings of those she has studied with-- Elena Brower, Beryl Bender Birch, Kia Miller, and Tiffany Cruikshank, just to name a few, woven into Meredith's classes. One of her dearest teachers, Elena Brower, has said, “Whatever you’re doubting or fearing is pointing you to your highest work. So what’s your highest work? Show yourself how worthy and delicious you are with small acts. Dissolve habits, soften stances, and don’t wait for someone else to do it.” My highest work has always been serving others and helping people reach their wellness goals through new found confidence, personal reverence, creating rituals, mindful exercise and balanced eating.
