My yoga story begins in 2011 when my mom invited me to Kripalu for a weekend yoga retreat. I have always been a runner and wanted to find a new form of movement that helped me to stretch, gain strength and flexibility. At the time, I lived in New York City, I loved the peace yoga brought me in the chaos of city life. Presently, I am working toward my 500 Hour Ayurvedic Yoga Teacher Training at the very same place I did my first downward facing dog.

What got you hooked?

Although I started yoga for physical purposes, I quickly learned that there was so much more! Yoga has helped me build confidence, ease anxiety and has allowed me to let me true self shine. I keep peeling the layers back and finding more and more to love. What’s not to be hooked on?

Tell us an interesting fact about yourself?

I have my BFA in Illustration, so in addition to teaching yoga, I am a freelance artist and illustrator. Growing up with both parents as professional artists, I always knew I wanted to do something creative. I love bringing my creativity into my yoga classes and a yogic influence into my art!

What’s your number one piece of advice for someone just getting into yoga?

You don’t need to be flexible to do yoga! You don’t need to be anything except for exactly what you are right now. Show up! You will benefit in ways you never thought possible.
